Overview:
The attached image below are the first few sections of a table of contents (TOC) chart I created and authored. I created this TOC as a Sr. Technical Writer at my current position.
Goal:
This table of contents currently organizes the procedures under review or created to aid in creating and validating the new ITSM manual.
Result:
The attached image below is a small view of a TOC I created and populated using Word, Sharepoint, and relevant project documents. I maintained consistency visually throughout the TOC by including the company's standard formatting and color scheme to match the company colors. All pages of the document adhere to the same coloring, page layout, font style/spacing/size. The language is clear, formal, and was proofread thoroughly to be free of errors. The document also serves as a landing net for Subject Matter Experts to easily find project documents, procedure info, contact info, meeting minutes, and status updates for each section. This ensured that I and the team understood the procedures, current action items and that everyone on the ITSM scrum team had access to the information. This reinforces key Scrum principles of transparency and maintaining cross-functionality. This TOC is still in use currently with my team!
